Writing for "shinyhoney" for over one and half year I've never told you how I take care about my nails. The truth is I'm not the best consultor about the topic, but I've tried everything on my hands and nails. I've started being interested in manicure from seventeen years old when I had high school graduation and my mother allowed me to make nails in nail salon. I remember it was pretty expensive and I've made the longest artificial nails I could. It was not comfortable at all, but I was feeling like a super star, absolutely happy and proud.
After I went to study in Moscow, I've continued to make my nails in salon (again as long as only possible) for half year more. There was one thing which has changed my pandemonium of long nails. I've started to teach little children to play chess and they were losing all concentration because they were staring at my nails all the time. I've realized that it's time to go for something more neutral and modest. I moved to natural length nails with a classic french manicure which was just perfect for my work.
After some calm time for my nails I've found a mehndi, a form of body art from Ancient India, in which decorative designs are created on a person's body, using a paste, created from the powdered dry leaves of the henna plant. I bought all necessary stuff in some Indian store and gave self mehndi to both of my hands. The color was classic brown and it was an obsession for over 4 or 5 months. After I've got a new problem with the hand's skin because I have used too many henna and oil so it went deep into the skin. For over 2 months I've washed my hands with soap again and again. After that finally my hands became clean and soft again.
I was using a lot of creams, oil and just treated my skin and nails in a healthy and natural way as I should from the start. Have a look at my favorite products which I'm still using even after many years. I'm sure some of them you have definitely seen before.
For some period I've tried to draw on my nails which was pretty good but took so much time from me. I went to a salon but already in Greece, unfortunately the result has never been better than when I did my nails at home. This way I've bought everything I need online and nowadays I'm doing Vinylux Polish by myself. As for me it's the best weekly polish which delivers week long wear. There are over 100 fashion-forward shades and so simple steps to get your manicure done.
There is an online greek store where I'm buying everything I need for my nails which called Zizel. They offer a lot of items and deliver orders very fast. If you are searching for Vinylux pruducts, this store is the right place for online shopping.
So how does the system work? First you need to apply a Base Coat which isn't a mandatory but a great thing to do. I'm using CND RidgeFx Nail Surface Enhancer which perfects the appearance of the natural nail. It smooths out ridges and masks imperfections for a beautiful color application and chip-resistant wear.
The last step is a one coat of VINYLUX Weekly Top Coat. The important detail there is no Lamp needed and the removing process is fast and simple. Nails don't get hurt and stay healthy and beautiful. I love this system and advice it as the best from all what I've ever tried.
I'm trying to have my manicure done as often as possible but sometimes I'm just too lazy to make it. So there is a possibility that at many photos you will see my natural nails without any Nail Polish. Speaking about pedicure, I'm making it more regular and always keep it classic and neutral.
By the way while it's a "closed toe" season, I think all of us, girls, should concentrate on our hands a little bit more than on legs. Good manicure during the winter season is such a great reminder of how beautiful you are and how simple it's to feel happy and gorgeous. Whenever you're making your nails done, at home or at the beauty salon, make sure to plan the beauty schedule and try to keep it going as long as possible. Of course, don't forget to use creams, treat your skin with masks and keep yourself warm.
