With fall season coming into our lifes and apartments, I would like to share with you some great tips which can help you to make your home feel cozy and nice. If during the summer we were mostly spending time in vacations or by walking outside with friends and family, now is the right time to take care about comfort essentials for your house. There is still one and half month before winter and it's all on us how we will enjoy colder days later.
Of course I don't suggest you to make a renovation or buy huge expensive things for your house, but some little details could really make your life in it much more enjoyable, relaxing and soulful. Let's have a look at "Shiny Honey" solutions!
1. ADD MORE BLANKETS
I have never been so in love with blankets like for the last 2 years. It's an amazing chance to stay warm, to feel cozy and to enjoy your time in sofa. Our family can brag of a huge collection of them in any color, fabric and brand. Only on our marriage with Pete we've got about 5 of them from our friends and relatives. It's an amazing gift, top winter essential and a life saver.
There are blankets in every room of our house for every family member, including our little pup, which can't live without a warm one. It's also a great idea to put your blankets on display for easy snuggling access and a beautiful wall display.
2. LAYER RUGS
Few days ago my mother-in-law has rolled out carpets in a house. I could never imagine that with such a move the atmosphere of the place can change into something very precious, nice and absolutely friendly. If before I was all into Glam and Chic Rugs, nowadays I'm obsessed with Retro Touch and Vintage. The only thing I would like to point at is that Rugs look better together. If you have few of them in different fabric and design, it's time to put them on the floor with a stylish layering touch.
3. GET SOME TEA
One of my every evening routine is to drink hot tea by chilling in sofa and watching tv with my hubby. All winter long I'm exploring shops for new delicious tea. I drink absolutely all of them, but I'm always excited to try something new and to smell the amazing scent.
The things which makes every tea a hundred times more delicious are the process of brew, beautiful cap and cookie next to it. While me and Pete were living in Crete, we have visited The Local Tea Shop almost every week and bought a lot of natural tea mixes, homemade cookies and different tea accessories. To enjoy all the purchases together was the biggest pleasure for me.
4. BAKE SOMETHING YUMMY
If you've got a free time and would like to spend moments together with your family and relatives, it's always a great idea to bake. Last time when I cooked an Apple Pie, all house smelled cinnamon and vanilla. What could be more cozy, dont' you agree?
It is really fun and interesting to try new recipies and of course to eat it all together. However I'm not trying to cook something hard and complicated, just medium difficulty capcakes, pies and tortes with fruits or chocolate.
5. OPEN THE CANDLE
I love to open candles during winter season: I find it romantic, beautiful and cozy. It's cheap but really a great addition into any house. You can buy it almost in every shop, but I prefer Ikea Candles the most of all, because they're made with different scents and in different colors. I believe it's absolutely wonderful chance to light up and scent up the room just in one second.
6. TURN INTO PET FRIENDLY
Pets make house more animate, fun and cute. What could be more cozy than a hug with a little pup or a kitty in your bed or sofa? By the way, their bodie's temperature is higher than ours, so they're like little batteries which can always warm you up.
If you already have a pet, you can make his life happier with buying or even making by yourself some things like knitted sweaters, pet furniture, toys to play or delicious snacks. Speaking about my pup Dominikos, I just bought for him new sweaters with the prettiest patterns and yummy snacks to enjoy. Guess who is thankful? :)
By the way have you guys seen the new pet collection of Ikea? Created by pet loving designers with support from trained veterinarians, the range covers all the bases of our shared life with pets indoors and out, so you and your pet can enjoy your home together.
I hope this article was useful and you get some ideas which will help you to change your home into a perfect personal fall spot. The advices I've gave you can be actualized in a luxury way (with a lot of money to spend), but also in a simple affordable ways which are an exploration of your attic, mini shopping at the sale corner or even handmade from anything available.
